Central Mississippi Amateur Radio Association was formed to give central Mississippi hams an alternative.  CMARA is a smaller association, and by design, it is run by the members.  Every effort was made during the writing of the Constitution and By-laws to insure that no one person or small group would dictate the direction of the Association.  We carefully chose “Association” rather than “Club” because we felt the term “Club” suggested exclusivity and we want everyone to feel welcome and included.

We are ARRL affiliated and we are also a 501(c)(3), tax exempt, Non-Profit Organization.

We offer VE testing after each meeting and special sessions can be arranged with prior notice.  We hope to offer classes at each level of license beginning with technician level.

We work closely with the Rankin County Emergency Operation Center, located at 601 Marquette Road in Brandon, MS, and look forward to many years of continued association with them.

Our meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Rankin County Emergency Operations Center.  The Board of Directors meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the same location.

Visitors are always welcome, and all members are  welcome and encouraged to attend the board meetings.
